Potato vs Tomato Europe Map by Machine Learning Algorithm Based on Per Capita Consumption

When browsing Reddit a while back, I stumbled upon a map of Europe that was quite interesting and somewhat made sense to me, since Spain and Italy are known for using tomato in their cuisines. So, I decided to validate this map.

Obtaining the annual consumption per capita data of both tomato and potato for each country in Europe, I produced the maps below.

To generate a map of two groups with a border, I used a machine learning algorithm - clustering - on the consumption data. The results are as follows looking quite similar to that first map.

The issue is that it's generalizing for the entire country. For example, the south of France is absolutely tomato based, as opposed to the potato heavy north.
